FLEECE PROJECT

Fellowship,Landscape, Enterprise,Environment,Culture and Experience.

To take placein the Orton and Tebay area over a period of 6 months starting in summer 2006.

The project is to involve a minimum of 15 local groups each to produce a felt hanging. These are to be a topic chosen by the group reflecting an aspect of place,activity,featuring a historical/mythological event associated with the locality. A mixture of felting, quilting, collage and embroidery will be used to create the hangings.

The local school children will produce a felt map showing the locations depicted in each of the hangings. There will be a felt framed photograph of the members of each group.

Alongside the work on the hangings Paul Dunford will take photographs of the work in progress. This is to be produced in a colour brochure.

The workshops will take place in the village hall in Orton. The finished hangings will be on display locally. In the future we hope exhibit furher a field.
